NaSTA Awards and Conference 2013
Last weekend, 8 members of SonarTV travelled down to the University of Exeter for NaSTA40, the annual NaSTA Conference and Awards weekend, hosted by XTV. The weekend was a great experience, with talks from industry professionals (including people from BBC, ITV, Sky, CBS News and The Network) as well as the all-important NaSTA Awards 2013.
Our very own Station Manager, Rowan Johnson was elected the NaSTA Marketing Exec for 2013-2014, and on top of that, we were shortlisted for 4 of the 12 catagories we entered into this years NaSTA Awards.

Your New Station Managers
So NaSTA40 has ended and the handover process has commenced. A huge thank you to Rowan and Graham for the amazing hard work they have put in taking SonarTV to another level. Your new Station Manager is now Tom Garrihy and new Assistant Manager Kai Brittain. We both endeavour to not only keep up the hard work that was put in the past year but also if possible improve upon it.

NaSTAvision 2013
On Wednesday January 30th from 5pm, SonarTV co-hosted NaSTAvision with Staffs TV. NaSTAvision was a huge live broadcast in association with NaSTA, bringing together student TV stations from all over the country for a night of musical acts, celebrity judges and friendly competition.

Eastleigh By-Election Coverage
Following the resignation of Liberal Democrat MP Chris Huhne, representatives from all major political parties descended upon Eastleigh, Hampshire for the first Super Saturday of the by-election. SonarTV are going to be covering any major developments within the by-election, on top of producing a documentary about Labours efforts to secure a win on February 28th.

NaSTAvision Follow-Up Report

On January 30th 2013 SonarTV hosted NaSTAvision, a Eurovision style song contest bringing together the very best of student television stations across the country. The competition was joint hosted with Staffs TV at Staffordshire University, and organised in partnership with NaSTA, the National Student Television Association. (Hence NaSTAvision.)
